Hubby is officially 50

SO...I have many great things to say about hubby but the best thing today was to say Happy B-day.
We had a Hawaii five-O party for him and had 50 or so people come.  We couldn’t have done it without the help of my parents and some close friends. I think the most memorable part was watching dad dance with the hula skirt on his head.....

I’m Back

So, I am back for a brief time. I wish to start updating my blog for me to remember what has transpired thruought my life. I took a brief journey thru reading all of the posts and found some real gems. So I will make an attempt to journal the big happenings for hubby and myself.

Under $40

I went shopping today at Ross Dress for less. Let me tell you it was definitely a winner. Normally I don't find anything to buy but I hit the jack pot.  I got 4 shirts and a pair of  Nine West jeans for under $40 dollars yep under $40.  Three of the shirts are 3/4 length sleeves and the other one is a short sleeve.  I am really excited about the purchases. Just have to wash before i wear them.

It has taken some time to get back to blogging

I have had it brought to my attention that it has taken some time between posts. I find that I don't have much to say that I think is whitty, amusing or interesting thus no posts. I need to find more interesting things going on in my day.  An example, my neighbors chicken is in my back yard.  What to do about that you ask? I just called them and they will be coming over later to retrieve Beebee. Apparently she is the queen bee.  Who knew that there is chicken hierarchy.   Cluck Cluck!!

Bought tickets!!

Who is going to Disney? This girl and her fabulous hubby!  We bought tickets on Delta using the military fares and were able to get round trip tickets for $252.00. The yield fare prices were $100.00 and not guaranteed. We have a guaranteed seats for less than any other airline price.  Wahoo!!!  So we are going to Disney and don't have to worry about getting there or coming home.  How's that sports fans.

Getting hot

It is that time of year, it is getting hot outside. Yep I said it. So, I went to Walmart yesterday, no surprise there.  I bought some groceries, yet again, no surprise.  One such purchase was a can of cinnamon rolls. You know the whomp kind. Loaded up the car to make the 7 mile drive back to the house.  Just a normal every day kind of thing.  While driving I hear this loud bang in the back of the car.  I nearly drive off the road.  I couldn't figure out what it the noise was and I only heard it once so I kept driving.  Do you know where this is going?   So while unloading the groceries I spy the can of whomp rolls.  You guessed it they exploded in the heat of the car. That's how hot it is! Hot enough to explode a can of whomp cinnamon rolls.  Here's to safe driving and no exploding can of dough.

Doorbell

So this morning my doorbell rings and I think oh must be my neighbor.  I throw on my bathrobe and hurry to answer it.  To my surprise it is the johova witness.  I guess all it takes to scare them off is crazy hair, circles under the eyes and someone in their bathrobe and pj's.  No more hiding behind the couch a la Amy Dew.  Just have to be prepared for the next time.  I guess it is official I live in my home, now that I have been visited by the johova witnesses.

Mowing the back

So I mowed the back yard and thought it would be easy with the riding mower.  Not so with the stand    Your ground bunnies.  They just kept moving into the grass and watching me mow circles around them. They eventually moved into the high grass by the house and the irises.  I think they called to the barn swallows to help with their plight of me mowing the back yard.  Because I had about five of them dive bombing me.  Around and around they went, zooming around the mower and back.  It was quite dizzying to watch.  At least I won't have to fight the flora and fauna for two more weeks.

Multiplying

Tonight while watching the bunnies in the back yard, I noticed three to start with.  Then we had four, add one more to get five and to finish off the night we ended up with six.  So they are multiplying right before our eyes.  Saint and I really enjoyed watching them chase each other and hop in the air.  Looks like we may have several more bunnies this fall. Bunnies

It looks as if peeping Tom bunny is back.  He has brought his girlfriend with him. I call her clover.  Because that is what she likes to eat. They were frolicking in the back yard.  Chasing each other and rolling around on the grass. It was fun to watch them.  Maybe they will have some babies for us to name.  One can hope.

New iPad

So I am trying to post with the Christmas present I received.  I have tried unsuccessfully in the past and today it is going to work (come you know where) or high water!!!!  I have had so many things that I wanted to put in black and white that hopefully I'll remember most of them. Wish me luck!!!

Hot Hot Hot

So last night is the first night we have turned on the heat for the home.  It has been a balmy 80+ degrees here for most of December.  I was remarking to the neighbor that it doesn't seem like Christmas with it as hot as it is.  No worries it has made a 180.  When I went to bed last night it was in the 60's this morning it was 15 with the wind chill. However, it is supposed to be back up in the 60's by the end of the week and we are almost half way thru the month.  No complaints here.  I can keep rockin' my shorts....

MOOO

Yes, it is that time of year. Mom and dad were gracious enough to bring the beef all the way to my house. It filled the freezer but I have to share.  I figure if my sisters don't get theirs by Christmas I'll start dining on their share I'll implement the nosh on yours before mine rule.... So Where's the beef? At my house of course!!!!

Look who I met in ATL

If you guessed the Coca-Cola polar bear you would have it right!  He blinked and opened and closed his mouth. I was also told that he is a robot. Not sure one way or the other. It was fun all the same. So Have a coke and a smile!!

Safe for Dinner at my house

We all know of the coleslaw incident of 2010.  I decided that it was time to try to have the neighbors over again. I did not serve coleslaw this time much to the thanks of the neighbors as well as their kids.  When I made the invite to have everyone over to eat, the neighbor son asked me Miss M you aren't going to serve coleslaw are you? I said "no" and he said that it would be fine for his parents to accept the invitation.  We all got a good laugh at that.  So I served hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, salsa, and baked beans. Only had a few burgers and hot dogs left over so I would say a good turn out.  The one thing that made it even better is that no one got sick.  I am now allowed to have the parties at my house according to the neighborhood.  Party on Ya"ll!!!

You can get everything at Wal-Mart

Apparently you can get everything at Wal-Mart, including children.... I just finished my shopping and went to the parking lot. I spied a family trying to get their son out of the bed of their truck.  He was running around laughing. I smiled great big and the mom was exasperated she said "if you can get him out of the back you can have him."  So I went over to the bed and said " come here it's time to go, let's get a move on..." The two year old came right over and put his little arms up for me to pick him up.  His dad said here's a hundred if you take him while laughing. His mom was saying NO NO NO. I was just kidding. I knew that they were joking and I gave the kid a treat.  His mom also said that he had never went to someone that he didn't know.  I let her know that I am a pied piper of kids or baby whisperer if you will.  All in all it was a good shopping trip I even save $20.00 in coupons.

Cuddles, Cuddles and more Cuddles

Today was girl luncheon at our house. Hubby was kind enough to hide in the office while the girls and their girls were at the house. He did commendeer the first baby through the door though. He kept her until the others got to the house.  I got lots of cuddles with two different babies and one 3 year old. Fun was had by all and I sure am worn out.  ( No diaper changes for me so the best of best. Playing with the babies and giving them back.) 

Red Nails

So I got bored yesterday and decided to paint my nails.  Here is the result. Red was the color of choice. I started with pink and decided to go with something a little more racy.  There is just something about long red nails.  Maybe next week I will do some designs or something fun but for today it was just straight up red!  Here's to seeing red.....

Register Rewards

So on a previous visit to Walgreen's I earned register rewards totaling $5.00.  I thought what am I going to spend this on?  Well, this week Walgreen's had coke 12packs 3 for $10.00.  I promptly went to spend my register rewards. I paid $5.41 for 3 12packs of coke.  How's that for shopping?  Normally one 12pack is $4.29 at Wal-mart.  I hit the jack pot this week. Happy shopping everyone.

Hitch Hiker

Look who decided to go for a ride. The giant grasshopper made it all the way to town at 55mph. He clung to the passenger side window of the jeep before exiting at Walgreen's.  Do you think he was a little lost?
