Guilty Pleasure

I love watching the TV show Project Runway! I so enjoy the fashion and the sewing. (even though I don't sew and probably won't ever sew) I think it is really interesting to see what the people come up with in the time constraints that they have. Some really fabulous dresses and some not so much.  It just goes to show you what a little creativity can do.

Police Cookies

What are these you ask? It is just a chocolate chip cookie made with 1/2 milk chocolate and 1/2 white chocolate chips. Get it black and white.... I am going to be baking a batch to send with my hubby to give to some of the guys at work. I hope they find it amusing to be eating police cookies since they are police officers.  They were kind enough to check on us this week while hubby had some medical issues. My way of saying thanks....

Frimp anyone?

I got me some shrimp!!! You can fry it, boil it, BBQ it, and the list goes on and on. I plan on my shrimp and rice recipe.  Just use a stick of butter, a teaspoon of minced garlic, some red pepper flakes (don't have to use these but I like it a little hot), parsley (fresh or dried) to taste, and Parmesan cheese grated on top once you are done cooking. If you have some white wine a 1/4 of a cup makes it even tastier. Just pour all of that over the rice and voila' you have shrimp and rice. Sometimes when I am being lazy and don't want to dirty another dish I add broccoli to the dish. (it is the frozen kind) Steam it up with the shrimp.  YUMMY!!!! My neighbor brought me a 10 lb bag. Whaoo!!! Guess what's for supper?

Car Wash

Makes you think of the song.... WORKIN AT THE CAR WASH.... am singing it really loud in my head right about now. Anyway, hubby and I are taking the neighbor kids to the car wash tomorrow. Big J likes these and is fascinated with the workings of them. His brother little J not so much. But if we take one we take the other. Going to the car wash is all that big J has been talking about to his parents and anyone else who would listen. So it will be fun. I think we will take pictures of car before washing and after with the kids. Hubby wants to possibly go for ice cream after. I wasn't so sure that is a good idea. Sugar the kids up and then take them home..... Good for us not so much for the parents......

Coke Rewards Points

I am entering my coke rewards points and am thinking I will be sending out magazine subscriptions for Christmas this year.  If you are interested in any particular magazine just let me know. I currently have almost 400 points to burn. I usually just enter sweepstakes with the points but I figure I will actually get something for my points this time.   I haven't figured out how to redeem them for something other than the sweepstakes so I don't know if I can gift the subscription. I'll find out soon enough I guess. Happy Reading!!!

Home again Home again

I have arrived safely at home and should have played the slots yesterday. I used all my luck getting home..... All flights over sold and way down on the standby list. I made it!!! Good thing to use my luck getting home! I will be picking up hubby tonight from the airport. His trip went really well he now has his foreign jump wings.  Wahoo!!  It is a bragging right in the airborne community. He jumped out of the plane with a German jump master. It is kinda cool. All is right in the world we are both going to be home. Who knew that I would become a homebody?

Vegas Baby!!!

Vegas you ask? Why yes I am going to Las Vegas. I just bought my ticket and am leaving on a jet plane. Can you hear me humming that song?  I have a wedding to go to and lots of fun to have. I will be getting my quarters tomorrow so I can play the slots...... CHA CHING!!!! That's the sound of money going down the drain but oh what fun it is. There is something to be said for the one armed bandit. All the bells and whistles, not to mention the lights and sirens, it makes your heart beat a little faster. I never take more than I can afford to lose. It is all pure entertainment and money making on the casino's part. I get to hang out with Cousin Favorite. We will have a great time being girly girls. Lots to see and do... and not enough time to do it all. I will leave you with another song..... VIVA LAS VEGAS........( a nod to my brother in law)
