Who Knew?

Who knew that holding a weed eater for a little over an hour would make your arms hurt?  Apparently I should have taken to warming up the ole biceps.  I forget that I haven't used these muscles like I used to.  So I am taking some Advil to ease the pain. I do have some nicely edged  spots in the front yard. I think I will tackle the back yard next week. Give my arms time to recuperate. I have to say it isn't as good as Mr G. but it was a heck of a lot cheaper.  I don't think I will be giving him a run for his money but I can keep the yard looking spiffy.  I guess I am thinking green by keeping it in my pocket!!!

Conversation last night

Hubby and I were out to dinner with another couple when we were discussing some things that made us laugh at our jobs. I had to tell the story of the passenger who rang the call bell and asked "Where are the state lines?' I had to look around to ensure that I was not going to be on TV. I thought she was playing a prank on me.  So, asked her "What? I'm not sure I heard you correctly." Again her reply. "Where are the state lines?"  I responded it is kinda like when you drive across them you don't really see them but they are there. She let me know that she had never been out of the state before and thought the state lines were actually drawn around the state.  So before I walked back down the aisle she asked "How do the pilots know where to go?"  I couldn't explain the whole transponder and air space in the time allotted for the flight so I just let her know......."The pilots just follow the state highways."  Happy flying!!

Pink Wall

I got up this morning and decided to paint the laundry room wall.  I am so excited to say it is finally finished. I need a little touch up paint but all in all it looks good. I have included a before and after shot. Now I am more excited about doing laundry,it is surprising that a little color can make a difference.

Guess what I did

You guessed it. I finally finished painting the wicker. This is a picture of both chairs that needed to be painted.  I forgot to do a before and after so I did a side by side. You get the picture.... pun intended. This is the beginning of spring for me. Time to work on the outside as well as the inside.  Not much left to do so I will keep you posted on the ins and outs.....

Flying

So I have passed the 3 year mark of my clipped wings. I am no longer a flight attendant. For so many years it defined me.  People would ask what I did for a living and I replied I am a flight attendant. Now, I just say I don't know what I want to be when I grow up.  I am a home maker, friend, sister, daughter, favorite aunt, and wife. Yet none of these things define me.  What I miss about my old job is the friends and the being gone. It was also one of the things I disliked about the job... being gone. So go figure.  One of these days I will post some of my favorite stories of work.... Coffee, tea, or me?

Hoppy Easter Bok Bok Bok

It is Easter and I have had the opportunity to have the fun with my husband and neighbors. We had dinner the traditional kind with Ham and all the fixin's.  I think the favorite of today was the deviled eggs.  Kinda crazy to have them before the egg hunt but all is well. The neighbor boys had about 150 eggs to hunt. It was fun to watch them tear across the yard finding the egg first and filling up their baskets.  Lots of goodies for them to snack on.  We finished the hunt before the rain started. It was a gully washer.  Holy cow did it rain. It filled up our ditch and almost went over the drive way.  The whole back yard was almost flooded. It seemed like as soon as it started it was over.  I even saw two wrens before it got dark so all in all a great Easter.

Tornados

So, we have already had one tornado touch down a few miles from my house. We are under another watch for more of these swirling winds. Hubby is out working the streets. (Not in the working girl sense) Before he went to work, I went outside with him only to watch the clouds moving in two different directions. I made a comment about how that wasn't good and he calmly replied it isn't bad for us it is bad for others.... "That won't touch down here, it's moving to fast".  Well I talked with my little sister shortly after this outside conversation and she told me "Oh yeah, we grew up in Cherry Valley". This comment gives me the weather girl status because Cherry Valley is in tornado alley.  I can remember getting in the tub several times growing up, as well as getting under our desks during class.  I will be more than happy to pass off the weather girl hat......any takers?
