Electric Squirrel

While at mom and dad's house, the electricity had been shut off. I was quite surprised when we found the culprit was a squirrel.  It was not the first of it's kind. I called it the Japanese squirrel. (because it committed Harri Kari) Mom called it a middle eastern squirrel, because it was a suicide bomber. When the culprit hit the transformer, it caused a loud boom and off went the lights. They had 3 of these varmints in less than a week. The electric company sent out some line men to put a special guard up to discourage more middle eastern squirrels.  Crazy right?

He's Home!!

So I have to tell everyone how happy I am.  I went to the airport today to pick up my hubby. He has been gone for a 28 day deployment. Can I just say what a blessing it is to have him back?  Everyday with him is so wonderful. His laughter is infectious, his smile lights up a room and he loves life to the fullest. Let's just say that today couldn't get any better, my hubby is the best!!!

Bus crash

So, I am riding the bus at the airport. You know the one that takes you from the baggage claim area to where you parked the car. When lo and behold, we pull up behind another bus waiting to go thru a gate. I guess it was not moving fast enough.  The bus in front of us throws it in reverse.  I yell at the driver that we were getting ready to be hit. I hollered " it's backing up, it's backing up!!!"  He then lays on the horn and tries to get it in reverse before the inevitable happened. BUMP !! I don't know if the bus in front of us didn't know he hit us or not but he put it in gear and away he went. As I was the only passenger, I wrote out a statement so the driver wouldn't have any problems with his supervisors. I was then transferred to another bus to keep on my journey to my car. What a day!! I made it safely home with the occasional bumps...

Olympics

While at my parents house I watched the men's triple jump.  The gold winner had a jump of 24 feet. I said "holy cow that is really far".  Dad let me know that the distance was approximately the length of their living room.  I was astounded at how far the man jumped. Dad then said to me "I bet you can't jump that far". Now when I am thrown a challenge, it is imperative for me to accept. So I responded, " I bet I can".  I then proceeded to bunny hop all the way across the living room. I told dad that he didn't specifically say one jump. Point one to Me....We laughed so hard. It is always fun at mom and dad's house.

Extra Keys

Thankfully I was home to day, because the neighbor husband was locked out of his house. He had come home after a long day at work laid down the keys inside, went out the back door to feed the pets when the wind came along and slammed the door. Lo and behold it caused the door to lock him out. I got a call to see if I had the spare key. It was returned after their trip. It was also in the locked house. So to make a long story short I am inspired to have a hide a key somewhere outside the house.  I have some pretty good hiding places in mind.  None of which are inside.....
